Description

The bronze sculptures of Ernest Joachim (1949 ) , the integrity , the elegance and the capriciousness of nature. An inexhaustible theme , performed in a flowing design language . Abstracted appear exciting , sleek contoured volumes , reminiscent of both flowers and other plant parts , as in skeletal form of humans or animals . The more the artist moves away from reality , the more the essence of the depicted expressed . Indicates the model of the bronze , partly because of the sometimes highly polished surface , the forms a monumental character . His images are both signs of admiration as tributes to the beauty .

Through his images speaks Ernest Joachim both admiration and amazement at the beauty of creation

Ernest Joachim : ” My inspiration lies in nature and sometimes in architecture , although contradictions seem Often my work moves between these two forms sometimes in harmony , sometimes in contrast to their environment I try to interpret the nature and . . . to give . certain subjects in their essence My aim for perfection .

He is primarily pre-occupied by growing forms, with their openness and closeness. Natural human and plant forms, mostly stylized and sometimes almost very close to their realistic, natural shape.

His small bronze sculptures emanate a monumental attraction, and, often quite rightly-insofar as not yet present-seem to call for a larger scale, as they certainly desserve so. All around, they boast an equilibrium of volume and outline.

The world of the sculptor is reflected more loosely and playfully in that of the graphic artist Ernest Joachim, specifically in his colour-etchings, which are as clever as they are elabrated, and which each create very profound, poetic evocations.
